gTracker Privacy Policy

gTracker is a driver app used by transport fleets to follow a vehicle from the moment a consignment is scanned until it reaches its destination. It is built and hosted by Gigant Technology and used by the fleet operator you drive for. This page explains what the app collects, when, and who can see it.
What the app collects

What the app does not collect
- The camera is used only to read the QR code on the manifest. No photo or video is stored or sent anywhere.
- No contacts, messages, photos, microphone audio or advertising identifiers.
- No location is recorded outside an active trip.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, and no data is sold.
When tracking runs
Tracking starts when you scan a manifest or tap Start tracking, and stops when the vehicle enters the destination area, when you stop the trip, or when dispatch closes it. A free tracking session that goes silent for a long time is closed automatically by the server. While tracking is active Android shows a persistent notification and iOS shows the location indicator, so it is always visible that the app is recording.
Where the data goes
Positions and trip details are sent over an encrypted connection to the gTracker server operated by Gigant Technology, where they are visible to the dispatch team of the fleet operator you drive for. When there is no signal, positions are stored on the device and uploaded once the connection returns; they are deleted from the device as soon as the server confirms them.
The live map in the app loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. When it does, OpenStreetMap receives your device's IP address and the area of the map being shown, under the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
Who the data is shared with
- The fleet operator you drive for, through its dispatch panel.
- The hosting providers that run the gTracker server on Gigant Technology's behalf.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Nobody else. Data is never sold or used for advertising.
How long it is kept
Trip records, including the recorded route, are kept by the fleet operator as part of its operational records. Positions queued on the device are deleted once uploaded, and uninstalling the app removes everything it stored locally.
Security
All traffic between the app and the server uses HTTPS. The dispatch panel is protected by individual accounts with role-based access.
Your choices
- You can stop a trip at any time from the app.
- Location and camera permissions can be withdrawn in your phone's settings. Without location permission a trip cannot be started.
- For questions about your data, or to ask for a trip record to be corrected or deleted, contact the fleet operator that issued your manifest.

Children
gTracker is a work tool for professional drivers and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with an updated effective date.
